Bang Bang Tuesday does right by its name. Founded by hairstylist Lyddecoco, model Jessica Ulo and DJ Debby it has, since its beginnings in March 2016, become the go-to-week-breaker for Nigeria’s hard-partying fashion and music scenes. Held every Tuesday at The Grind in the popular Victoria Island district of Lagos, it starts out chilled with bottle service, balloons and shisha. Western bangers from J Hus and Drake mix with tracks by Nigerian artists such as alté musician BOJ and Peruzzi (both regular attendees). As the night moves on, the temperature rises and so does the energy – clubbers such as designer Bubu Ogisi, stylist Swanky Jerry and model Alani Adenle stand on couches and sing along to their favourite tunes as trays of drinks flying-saucer through the crowd.
