I started The Photography Book Club out of a deep love for photography books and a desire to experience visual stories in real life. What began as an informal Sunday gathering in my studio in Amsterdam has grown into a space where people can slow down, connect, and discover photography in an open and personal way.
As the curator, I focus on books by African photographers and artists from the diaspora, building a collection that reflects the richness and diversity of our stories. Over time, the collection has expanded organically to include titles from all over the world, always with an eye for strong storytelling, fresh perspectives, and honest visual language.
The club is for anyone who loves photography, whether you're a maker, a collector, a student, or simply curious. Through curated events, meetups, and conversations over tea and jollof rice, the book club became a space that feels intimate, inspiring, and rooted in community.
